The BMW E12 is the first-generation of the 5 Series executive cars, which was produced from 1972 to 1981 and replaced the saloon models of the BMW New Class range. Initial models were powered by inline-four engines, using either a carb or fuel-injection. A year after launch, the first model powered by a straight-six engine was introduced. By the final years of E12 production, most models used a straight-six engine. The E12 was replaced by the E28 5 Series in 1981.
This early generation E12 520i is finished in the eye catching BMW Golf Yellow. This example shows 132,585ks on the odometer with no log books included, however some receipts for servicing are included. This is a running and driving example that presents quite well overall, and features a full beige interior, woodgrain trim, analogue clock, cassette player, assorted spare parts and more. This is a great entry level classic that would do well from some weekend tinkering.
