Seller's Description
Original vehicle believed continuously maintained and registered with no major restoration. Rust Free. WW2 Army Staff Car removable markings. Interior, original roof lining etc excellent. Just completed the first repaint over the 1940 factory finish in a nice two-pack original black. Refurbished instrument panel wood grain style as per original. Engine outstanding with full oil pressure, no smoke and 124 psi compressions right across. Fitted with full electronic distributor (original included). Converted to 12 volt. The Chev just completed in August a 7,000km run from Brisbane to Alice Springs then Darwin and back. I went right through it with brakes, bearings, steering etc receiving attention for the trip. Original period tow bar is only suitable for a light trailer Fitted a modern stereo (although it also has the very rare original radio fitted - not working), UHF and various electronic plugs Ran beautifully towing a camper trailer sitting comfortably on 90kmh but could cruise 100 if you wanted to push it. Happy to drive it Brisbane to Perth tomorrow. Rebuilt gearbox. It is fitted with as new radial tyres for long distance travel but comes with an almost brand new $1200 set of original size Firestone whitewalls (the spare in the boot photo). Might look at interesting swap/trade.
