Seller's Description
A nice example of the gorgeous XK140, if you are looking at this advert, I assume you know the history, rarity and desirability of this car. I will not bore you with the generic details. Purchased approx. 5 years ago, the vehicle has no known rust anywhere (a small moisture bubble on top of front guard, less then a 1c piece), the body is excellent, paint work presents well but not concourse a few imperfections here and there, wire wheels are excellent with very minor pitting upon close inspection. Chrome work is excellent. Undercarriage is super clean with no hidden nasties. Interior overall presents well again, not concourse but neat and tidy, instrument cluster could be refurbished, has an under dash air-conditioning unit that requires connection. Mechanically is strong, oil leaks - well I do not have any on my driveway and yes it is full of oil, work that out a Jaguar with no oil leaks, tomorrow is a different day though! Chassis No. indicates was originally a LHD car and automatic, the current gearbox is a 5 speed I believe Leyland, takes a bit of getting used to for regular driving I would swap over to something more user friendly however I am advised further adjustments could be made to widen the gate with softer gear change. In my time I have had it fully rewired and a new clutch. Overall a nice example that could be tweaked a little here and there but not requiring "big ticket" items such as rust repairs etc, or just drive as it is. Any old car requires tinkering however there is a difference between tinkering and requiring restoration/spending big dollars this car falls into the former easily. Why am I selling, I just have too many cars to be honest, I am not going to use it much and would like the funds to contribute to a current house renovation. Naturally inspection welcome.
