Seller's Description
1 of 3 Mk1 Lotus Cortinas I purchased from Dick Rowland in York UK approximately 13 years ago with this particular car being listed in the Lotus Cortina Register magazine " Quarter Bumper" of Autumn 1998 as being the 31st oldest surviving Lotus Cortina known at that time. The build date of 25th July 1963 makes this one of the very earliest cars. Since owning the car It has been in storage and recent re commission works included a Cylinder head overhaul ( Southside Engine Centre ) at a cost of $2280, Weber Carburettors Overhaul ( Holley Parts Wholesaler) at $1243, a new water pump and a gearbox overhaul. Dick completed the full rebuild on this car and it still stands in very good condition today. The car retains all the original parts such as 2.5:1 First gear gearbox with Alloy Bellhousing, Remote shifter and Tail Housing, Alloy Doors, Boot and Bonnet, Straight steering Arms, A Frame rear suspension, Studded Early Steering Wheel, very early seat pattern Interior, New wiring harness, Petrol tank, all instruments serviced, all bushes, bearings Brakes serviced etc. A very rare and valuable car that will surely increase in value and now reduced to $85,000 to promote a quick sale to a serious buyer.
