If you are a lover of tough classic cars, this one is for you. You will look long and hard to find a car as good as this one. And talk about a head turner! This radiant fire red 1964 Chevelle has been turned into a tough but 100% reliable street machine. I have won many trophies with this car, but use it every week as my cruiser. This car even starred in Natalie Bassingthwaites latest video clip – “Not For You” and she has signed the visor. Everything on this car is new or rebuilt.
Engine: This 361 c.i engine was prepared by legendary NASCAR engine builder Dale Francis. Starting off as a Hi Performance 68-71 4 bolt main, engine was bored to 361 c.i. at 4.061 diameter, stroked at 3.48 inches, 10.2 compression, Eagle rods, ARP fasteners, Cloys double roller timing chain and gears, line bored and blue printed, balanced and decked. Crower Cam with 335 lift, 230/234 duration, set at 106 degrees – one lumpy baby! Iron Eagle 11 heads, 2.02 intake, 1.600 exhaust, stainless valves, 64 cc,, 120 lb double valve springs, chrome moly retainers, 120 lb double springs, 1.5:1 Harlin Sharp roller rockers. Hi Volume oil pump, Edelbrock Air gap intake with Holley 680 Street Avenger, Moroso Valve covers. This engine dynoed at 505HP on the bench before being detuned with a smaller carby to make it more street friendly. Car will still chirp the wheels into 3rd gear, but gentle as a lamb of needed. Starts every time and never runs hot.
Transmission and Drive train: Tough 700R 4 speed built to handle 600 HP by TPI performance. The overdrive is great – 2400 rpm at 100 kmh. 10 bolt diff with Auburn posi traction and 3.63 gears. All new bearings from axle to axle. Suspension and Brakes: New rear springs, shocks all round, ball joints, tie rod ends, idler arm and sway bars. New front disc power brakes and rebuilt rear drums. Car has been lowered 2.5 inches all round but never rubs the tires (lots of trial and error) Interior: Gorgeous all original interior, lacara lether steering wheel, tacho, 3 gauge illuminated panel, illuminated shifter, Every lock, switch, knob and bulb works on this beauty. AM FM cassette radio with front and rear speakers, Other stuff: Huge multi core radiator insure engine runs cool in the heat and traffic. Cowl induction hood (glass and steel), loads of chrome, 18 inch Coys C5 wheels, Flowmaster exhaust (awesome sound).
