What you see here for sale is a VERY RARE FIND IN AUSTRALIA a Factory Original Paint Springtime Yellow (Phoenician Yellow ) 1965 Ford Fairlane 2 Door Post Sedan - this has a Factory 289 Cubic Inch (4.7 litre) V8 Windsor Motor, with C4 Automatic Transmission - Ford 8" Diff You might have seen the odd 2 Door Hardtop 1965 Fairlane here in Australia - but I bet there isnt another 2 Door Post Sedan here !!! Only the Kiwis Amongst use will know what this car is - as Australia got the 1963 & 1964 Compact Fairlanes but then we got the Galaxies in the place of the 1965 Model - New Zealand continued to get the next Model and can remember my youth cruising around in one of these old girls (with 2 extra doors of course) I brought this car in Escondido California and it has a very Low Humidy HOT Dry Climate - the car has never left California - It was Sold New there !!! Its is definitely a project car but well worth the effort - it runs and drives but hasnt been registered for many years - it has been sitting in a garage for the past 18 Years - will need a good check thru on everything mechanically including Exhaust, Brakes and Suspension before it will be hitting the roads again - The Motor Sounds Great and Transmission shifts fine - and a Performance Crane Electronic Ignition System It Can be Registered in all States a Left hand Drive - I have the Import Approval Permit etc . The Body is Rust Free and the even Floors look as good as the outside of the car - It will need a coat of paint to make it real nice again of course - but its still got the Original Paint on Most of the car - so its a very good starting point - its got a few dings and dents around the place but most importantly there is no rust. All the Glass is Real Nice and rolls up and down etc - Being from the Dessert the Interior is toast and will need a Full Upolstery Kit, Headlining and Carpets just the usual stuff - all upolstery kits etc available from Dearborn Classic and Various other Suppliers in USA for these cars and are way cheaper than a XW XY GT Interior - there is a Boot Full of New and Spare Parts that come with the Car - included is a New Hoodlining, some Taillights, Lock Barrels and all the parts to make car complete - I have the sill mouldings and the Front Guard Moulding that is not shown in the photos here now and they come with the car Its getting impossible to find almost Rust Free 1965 Cars these days anywhere - Let alone a real cool looking Fairlane 2 Door Post - Make Great Sunday Car !!! I have seen one of these done up in Holman Moody Colours as a Thunderbolt and it looked absolutely awesome - but I cant seem to find any photos of it !!!
