The 2015 C63 AMG S marked a significant generational shift for Mercedes-AMG’s performance lineup. Moving from the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 of the W204 to the all-new 4.0L twin-turbocharged V8, the W205 AMG S variant introduced not just more power (375kW/700Nm), but sharper handling, lighter weight (thanks to the W205’s aluminium-intensive chassis), and a more tech-focused cockpit. Unlike the standard C63, the “S” model added a mechanical locking differential, dynamic engine mounts, AMG Ride Control, and Race Mode, setting it apart dynamically as a more serious performance machine.
