Australian body by A.G Hayes of Murwillumbah NSW (Hayes still exists as the local Toyota dealers !). Extensive ground up nut and bolt restoration over many years. Work completed includes: Replacement of all damaged wood to frame. All rusted steelwork professionally replaced with new hand fabricated panels. (over $8k spent on this alone !) Chassis refinished. New spring shackle pins and bushes. New crown and pinion and bearings to rear end. Fuel tank cleaned and painted. Brakes overhauled with new old stock brake linings. Engine head refaced and valves re ground. Radiator cleaned and checked with all new hoses. Wheels repaired, powder coated and fitted with new tyres and tubes. Instruments all there and rebuilt, including wind up clock. Engine starts easily on the crank handle, clutch and gearbox work well, and the car can be driven onto a trailer for transport. Still to do: wiring, paint, upholstery. Steering box needs looking at and engine now possibly needs new rings as smokey on start up.
