Seller's Description
Up for sale is a 1953/54 Corvette replica car. These vehicles were made in the 1990's in America and nearly exactly replicate a C1 Corvette. The kit originally came out with a Nova front sub frame and suspension and the rear frame was a rough box section with a Nova diff. It came with fuel tank , VDO gauges, replica seats were made with a full trim kit. It didn't come with a motor, transmission or radiator. All the bumpers, grille surround, number plate surround etc etc came as cast aluminium replicas which needed polishing or chroming. This kit was originally $18,500 for people that wanted to build a modified or hot rodded Corvette rather than chopping up an original one. I purchased this vehicle 10-15 years ago and then started to collect original Corvette parts before they all disappeared and got too expensive. I have a bunch of stuff that goes with the car that is genuine C1 Corvette parts - probably too many to list but include original speedo with new lenses, new front windshield and rubbers, top and bottom windshield mouldings are genuine Corvette. All the side trim is genuine Corvette, all the top door mouldings, deck lid mouldings and the waterfall (centre console) are all genuine Corvette. I also have some bumpers which are genuine. There is a new aftermarket front nose panel badge, complete new grille assembly and surround (after market), new park light assemblies (aftermarket). deck lid and boot lid catches are genuine Corvette (not fitted) etc etc. After sitting looking at this vehicle for a few years. I decided to throw the frame away and I fitted a 89 C4 Corvette frame underneath it , This frame nearly fitted perfectly after I unbolted the rear frame extension and fuel tank and cut the bird cage and fibreglass from the C4 chassis, After this the vehicle sat too high. I therefore channelled the body over the frame approx 100mm which incurred a partial loss of space in the boot and a little larger step where the sill plate is. The car comes with a new radiator/, it also had an LS1 that was removed from a 2005 Holden Monaro and a 4L60 auto trans. The motor had 15,000kms on it and I had it bored with better pistons and rings, also fitted it with a larger Z06 Corvette intake manifold, injectors and throttle body (motor hasn't been started since built). Under the dash there is a right angle pedal box / booster /master cylinder assembly so there is no ugly booster hanging in the engine bay. The vehicle runs coil over shocks front and rear. etc etc. The car is titled as a 1953 Chevrolet and I have all the import papers to go with it. It needs to be finished, you cannot get in it and drive it home. There is no top for the vehicle either. Please contact me for more details (message me or see photos).
