Seller's Description
XK140 MC DHC restoration Project This rare very late 1956 LHD Jaguar XK140 Drop Head Coupe which has the all steel door shells only fitted to a few of the very last cars built. It was originally supplied as a top spec car with C type motor, 2 inch H8 carbs and CR gearbox with overdrive. Unfortunately this motor and gearbox was removed and was fitted to another XK140 here in Australia and which is now in the UK. It is therefore a non matching numbers car but comes with a MKIX 3.8litre block and MK1/II head and manual gearbox. It still retains its original ID plate, body tag and matching numbers bonnet. In Black with Tan upholstery it would have been a sight to behold when new with its Black painted wire wheels. It represents a unique opportunity at $32,000 to get a very collectible XK at an affordable price that has great potential. The car obviously requires a lot of work as you will realize at this price. The project comes with a new outer soft top hood, new windscreen rubber and various other dor rubbers and new wing piping plus new hing face panels shut face panels new wooden door trims etc. The Car comes with a couple of important jaguar books "Jaguar XK140 explored' "The Jaguar Xk140 in the Southern Hemisphere" Also available is a RHD XK140 DHC originally old English White requiring total restoration. Buy both save on freight get a good deal and restore either or, or both.
