Seller's Description
THE STORY
Launched at the height of Chevrolet’s dominance in the full-size market, the 1966 Impala captured the brand’s blend of style and V8 performance. Positioned as Chevy’s upscale full-size offering, it featured clean modern lines, a refined interior, and a presence that made it one of the era’s most recognisable American cars.
Engine choices ranged from the reliable 250ci inline-six to a selection of strong small-block V8s (most notably the 283 and 327) as well as the torque-rich 396ci Turbo-Jet big-block. Paired with either a manual gearbox or Chevrolet’s smooth Powerglide and Turbo-Hydramatic automatics, the Impala delivered relaxed cruising and confident acceleration.
Optional heavy-duty suspension components added capability without sacrificing the comfortable ride Chevy was known for.
With over 800,000 Impalas built for 1966, it became one of the best-selling single-year models in Chevrolet’s history. Today, the ’66 Impala stands as an instantly recognisable and
enduring classic.
