Expressions of interest for my 1966 model Vc Valiant Safari. This car has been in my family for over forty years. It is in fantastic condition. It is a three speed column shift manual, six seat, 225 blue/ turquoise slant six. Apart from the tailgate outer skin there is zero rust in the body and chassis. Large majority of the car still has its original paint. It’s never been in an accident but it does have the bumps and grinds of a over 50’s life in the country. It has come from the factory as you see it with the only change being the motor. It even has the factory radio which still works but would need a new speaker. It has the factory heater which I’ve disconnected the hoses to keep from corroding. It also has the original Chrysler workshop manual, jack and spare wheel. The engine runs extremely well, it has the red inlet manifold with the single throat carburettor but I have the turquoise inlet manifold to run a dual throat carburettor. Included is the entire Bosch / Mopar distributor, coil, control module, leads and plugs for electronic points conversion. There is also a set of extractors, “Jelly bean” mags, plus heaps of other spares to come with the car. The car was last registered in 1988 but about 5 years ago I did a heap of work to it to pass for a pink slip in nsw and I drove it on a permit, 700 Klms to qld. It honestly didn’t miss a beat the entire trip. Since then it gets its mandatory monthly start up and run up the road. It needs new springs in one of the rear break shoes and a new wheel cylinder which is included. it needs attention to the front steering bushes and the rear spring shackles. That would be about it to pass for qld road worthy. If you were looking for a build project you couldn’t ask for better foundations. This car would save you a lot of time and money in the long run as very little would be needed to be done to be ready for panel, paint and fit out.
