Seller's Description
Mechanically restored VC wayfarer in great condition. Mechanical work carried out in 2013/14 includes reconditioning of the radiator, new water pump, new fuel pump, reconditioned carter single barrel carby, extractors with new 2" pipe and muffler, new uni joints on the tail shaft, VE disc brake conversion with reconditioned dual pot master cylinder and new brake lines all round, new upper and lower ball joints, new inner and outer tie rod ends, new idler arms, new pitman arms, new upper and lower control arm bushes, new castor rod bushes, rebuilt clutch and restored torque tube, new shocks all round, rear springs reset with extra leaf added, Bosch high energy electronic ignition with new 8mm leads. Engine has been out and all gaskets replaced- sump, head, rocker cover, big end. Does not drop oil. All engine internals inspected and in excellent condition. Paint is a little tired and tail gate has some ripple, but the rest of the body is straight with no structural rust and very little surface rust just behind the rear mud guards. Original lift-the-dot tonneau is in good condition, tray floor has been replaced. Interior is good- seat has been reupholstered and carpet replaced. The dash has one crack just behind the wheel. Heater is installed and working but the heater tap under the bonnet has not been connected to a switch in the cab. This is an excellent example of a rare classic needing very little work to complete the restoration or ready as is for a daily driver. Selling with a Stromberg 2 barrel carb and manifold. I haven't used them because the Carter is good and very economical on fuel.
