SN: 4525 VIN N0:1R7667 ENG NO:7R23498-9
$169,500
(To be sold UN-Registered & with Vic RWC)
RECENTLY RESTORED WITH A FACTORY HARDTOP
Launched in March 1961, the fabulous E-Type Jaguar was greeted with world wide acclaim and is revered by enthusiasts to this day as one of the Motor Industries greatest achievements. Even the great Enzo Ferrari reportedly called it “The Most Beautiful Car Ever Made”. The Series 2 was released in 1968 and continued in production until 1971.
Between 2022 and 2023 this Series II ‘Open Two Seater’, accompanied by a heritage certificate confirming its matching numbers, benefited from a major restoration including a two pack re-paint in Carmine Red, newly chromed bumpers and over-riders as well as new MWS 72-spoke chrome wire wheels, providing complementary lustre.
In addition to the Biscuit vinyl soft-top and black vinyl hood cover, the E-Type is also accompanied by a rare and desirable, colour matched, factory hardtop (incl. stand), perfect for protecting the reupholstered cabin, featuring lovely Deep Red seats, rich red carpets, a Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel and a period style Bluetooth radio conversion.
An extensive mechanical overhaul by both ‘Easy Motors’ of Tuggerah NSW and ‘Mulsanne Classic Cars’ of Somesby NSW was undertaken at the time of restoration, including but not limited to a comprehensive engine rebuild (including new ‘top hat’ liners, boring and decking, new gaskets, bearings, camshafts, timing chain, uprated rear main seal, high comp pistons, oil pump and water pump), a conversion to triple HD8 2” SU carburettors with correct inlet and air filter, fitment of a ‘123 Ignition’ electronic distributor, gear reduction starter motor, new steering rack, suspension rebuilding, reconditioning of the differential, gearbox over haul (including bearings, synchros, layshaft and gaskets) as well as brake and clutch hydraulics.
Recently restored, with supporting documentation, the presentation of this Series II will impress. The performance, handling, braking and overall drive-ability of this lovely 60's masterpiece can be truly enjoyed now and for years to come.
