-Exclusive use to senior members of Czechoslovakia
-Factory LHD release
-Powerful air-cooled V8 engine
-Successor to the Tatra 600
Presented in Gloss black, this examples exterior is a true reflection of release condition. Highlighted in white wall tyres and a polished chrome bumper, this luxury four door sedan remains as desirable as they were in their pre 80’s era.
With a velvet cloth-like interior showcasing an immaculate cabin area, the vehicle has kept well and offers collectability as an investment. Its Black dash and steering wheel are all complimented by it’s original chrome instrument clusters.
Released with an air-cooled V8, this 2.5L delivers nothing short of power. The synchronized gearbox came factory with a 4-speed manual transmission with an option to order ‘mountain’ gearing in place of the standard ratios.
This rear-engine luxury car was produced by Czechoslovakian company Tatra between 1956 and 1975. During this time, three versions of the model were manufactured successively. The Tatra-2 603 (the second version) is famous from the 1962 commercial for the vehicle - ‘Stastnou Cestu’ - as well as this example, The 1973 Tatra-2 603 II (the third version).
The total number of 603s built is uncertain as older cars were brought back to the factory, modernised and upgraded, then returned to service as new cars.
In communist Czechoslovakia, only high-ranking party officials or factory bosses could own the 603. The 603 was also exported to other countries that were allied to Czechoslovakia, including Cuba and China, and it is known that the Cuban leader Fidel Castro owned a white 603. This vehicle is indeed very rare in Australia.
A stunning addition to any collection, the Tatra 603 SII- presenting in immaculately overall would be sure to make a sound investment for any collector.
