In the US their value has gone up so quickly as the demand for the 3rd generation has gone through the roof. Nice ones like this one are harder to find and very pricey. 1974 IS A GREAT INVESTMENT YEAR being the: -LAST YEAR of the Performance based muscle 440 V8 chargers. After 1974 Dodge Chargers completely changed to a totally different concept of luxury personal cars based on a rebadged coronet instead of performance muscle cars. NASCAR teams in 1975, 76 and 77 were forced to rely on the 1974 for race-spec cars. In order for Dodge to be represented, NASCAR made an exception and allowed the 1974 charger to be used until January 1978 as dodge had no other suitable representatives. -LAST YEAR OF THE 3RD GENERATION CHARGERS 71-74. The last year of any classic is always highly desirable. 1974 was the final year for performance car options in the last hurrah of the muscle car era.  It soared in sales, mostly on the back of its performance heritage and impressive looks. -FAVOURITE CAR RACED BY Richard Petty, all time great racing driver. No rust of any significance was found otherwise anywhere in the vehicle, incl the frame, under body and suspension system. No excessive use of filler has been noted by mechanics inspections and no indication at all any hidden rust /body damage hidden by filler. VERY STRAIGHT CLEAN PANELS- No dints or dents or damages at all. All panel gaps quite good, only doors could be adjusted. All working indicators, parking lights, brake lights, reversing lights in great condition and have passed Australian standards for rego. New Australian standard headlights All doors and locks work great. Awesome satin black classic charger coke bottle side stripes, bonnet stripes, dual bonnet scoops and triple side black louvers makes this a guaranteed headturner. **PAINT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION. This is an absolute classic “hi-impact dodge muscle car” color. Its a mean and striking orange and black headturner. The car has had a recent repaint a couple of years ago and its still in excellent condition. There are no obvious blemishes/orange peel etc and only the odd usual few small stone chips etc. Overall this car looks fantastic but is not a showcar level repaint but as a club cruiser its absolutely stunning and a real headturner. **INTERIOR IS NEAR IMMACULATE AND A STANDOUT FEATURE that makes a superb impression. *IMMACULATE CONDITION SEATS front and rear. Stunning black with super soft ribbed color coordinated Dodge orange centre inserts. *IMMACULATE DOOR INTERIORS—absolutely stunning black and chrome with a color coordinated centre highlight insert in matching dodge orange, matching the seats and exterior. *EXCEPTIONAL NEAR NEW CONDITION of Black Headlining, Carpet, Sunvisors, Parcel shelf, Headliner etc. All trim is excellent with almost no damage or scratches. The whole interior is in excellent condition, with very few very minor defects that are barely noticeable– slight gathering of headliner just in far rear corners (no tears), scratches on rear hard back side of front seats (not noticeable as recently repainted) and one tiny repaired crack in top of dashpad is about all. *Brand new Australian standard seatbelts with pretensioners. *Brand new Mopar autometer gauges– all gauges work and look great with the circular shape of the era Cruise control Electric windows All door handles and locks work Kenwood speakers at rear.
