Unless you're spending $400k on an American Restomod, you will not find a nicer driving F Truck. Quiet with plenty of power. Diff ratios set for highway cruising and you sit on 100kmh at 1750rpm, sipping 98 fuel at 12.5L/100km.
Assembled at Battersby Garage in Brisbane and certified in NSW in 2022, this is a ground up restoration with every component either totally rebuilt, or replaced. I've done 70,000km of mostly country driving since it was certified. This can be verified via the Engineering cert. Specs as follows. 260 Boss 5.4L V8. Rebuilt with the whole engine bay (except a rebuilt XB brake booster) using BA parts (radiator, alternator etc).
This makes parts and service easy. Rebuilt BTM 4 speed auto gearbox (BA) with custom drive shaft. BA ECU US metal dash swapped to RHD with XR8 gauges Touch screen with Android Auto and Apple Car Play. AC (BA) and Power steering (Mazda steering box) Cruise Control (BA) Aftermarket driving lights concealed in grill. 130L Bronco fuel tank. rear mounted. Extensive Acoustic insulation and door seals. (very quiet for an Ftruck) Full leather XR8 seats, with custom middle seat/console. All mounted on original bench seat frame. Rust free body. Rego til Aug 2027.
Imperfections. She's not perfect and I prefer to be honest. See pics for stone chips at the bottom of the doors and guards. Passenger side front cnr of tub has minor cracking from the flex in the tub. we fixed this to 90% with L brackets on the tub, but still minor movement. Every F Truck has it. Tray is excellent, with the odd chip around the rim. Steering box has a slight leak (4 or 5 drips a year on garage floor). If I don't sell it, I won't fix it as I've never had to top it up. Worst case is remove and rebuild the box, then reinstall. Cost approx $3k. Carpet slightly worn in a few areas. Insurance costs me $60 per month for $85,000 agreed value and max 9000km per year. The truck has always been garaged and is very, very tidy, but not immaculate.
This is my 4th F Truck (there is no known cure for this disease) and in terms of driveability, you will not find anything better. The $$ would be nice, but I don't need to sell it and it is so fun to drive. Including the 2 vehicles, total build cost was approx $165k and I have more build photos if you're interested.
