Just arrived - This 1974 Ford Falcon XB 500 Sedan is a wonderful example of an Aussie classic. Well-known and even more well-loved, the XB Falcon is an iconic part of Australia's motoring history. This particular car is a matching numbers Falcon 500 Sedan, and a beautiful car at that. Fit with its original 250cu (4.1L) high compression 6-cylinder pre-crossflow motor, the XB is equipped with a 3-speed 'Cruisomatic' column shift auto. This XB was optioned with the Tow Package and comes with a trailer brake controller for those who may wish to tow. Resprayed in its factory Tropic Gold Metallic paint, the XB stands out nicely with some GT-style blackouts and a beautiful Saddle interior. Though an older restoration, it is presented in beautiful condition and is a very straight and honest car that is guaranteed to turn heads. The motor was reconditioned and balanced in 2021 by Rick Corbett Engine Reconditioners. This included honing, boring, and all new pistons, rings, conrod bearings, main bearings, cam bearing, a stage 2 Crows Cams Camshaft and plenty more. MJP Automotive also serviced the transmission, fitted an electronic ignition, and cleaned and repaired the radiator and carburettor. Exhaust Dynamics installed a 2.5`` sports exhaust from extractors back, and Suspension Centre SA replaced various bushes and ball joints where needed. The XB comes with a file of receipts documenting all the work done, and since the car's completion, it has covered just over 2000 km. To finish the car off, the XB is available with the 'XB500' plates too. This is a great opportunity to own a beautiful, matching-numbers Aussie classic with some great history behind it.
