This restored 1975 Ford Falcon XB GT 4 Door Sedan was originally delivered new by Brian Wood Ford of Upper Ferntree Gully, Victoria. According to the Identification tags and supplied letter from Ford Motor Company of Australia, this factory Apollo Blue Metallic over Parchment cloth trim and was originally fitted with a desirable range of factory options, including the laminated tinted-band windscreen, tinted side and rear glass, and an 11-transistor push-button radio. Only 130 XB GT sedans were built in this paint colour, and just one with this exact combination of options.

Restored 8+ years ago, the vehicle was thoroughly brought back to its former glory with a focus on maintaining factory-correct details, while ensuring it is turn-key and ready for reliable use and enjoyment.

DRIVE-LINE

Under the bonnet resides the matching 351 cubic inch Cleveland V8 (engine code T), backed by the original 4-speed floor-shifted manual gearbox (code L) and a 9-inch limited-slip differential with 4 wheel disc brakes. The engine has been fully rebuilt and enhanced for improved performance while retaining drivability. It was rebored and torque plate honed, fitted with Sealed Power hypereutectic pistons (.020 oversize), with a balanced rotating assembly and a single-piece rear main seal. A new Comp Cams mild hydraulic flat tappet camshaft and lifters were installed, along with reconditioned heads, Clevite 77 bearings, and all-new hoses. The driveline also benefits from a new Exedy flywheel and heavy-duty clutch, with a balanced tail shaft and new universal joints, together with a fully reconditioned 9-inch differential with the factory correct 3.01 gears.

Supporting the mechanicals, the car retains its original power steering and power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, while all suspension components have been replaced, ensuring confident, responsive handling. The vehicle rides on period-correct Globe alloy wheels, completing a package that delivers the muscular performance and road presence. The underside photos show the quality of full mechanical restoration.

EXTERIOR

Finished in its original colour of Apollo Blue Metallic (paint code V), the car presents beautifully with a deep, consistent shine across its bodywork. The bare-metal restoration undertaken 8+ years ago was professionally executed, and the car remains in excellent condition with only very minimal signs of age or blemishes under close inspection.

Factory options include a colour-keyed two-tone silver bonnet and driver-side mirror, suggesting a focus on original showroom presentation from new. The body lines are clean, panel fitment is even, and all factory GT identifiers — bonnet scoops, badging, and striping are correct. A very straight, clean example.

INTERIOR

Inside, the cabin is upholstered in White Vinyl trim replacing the Parchment with Cloth (trim code P2).  The interior was restored to a high standard during the vehicle’s refurbishment. The interior remains largely faithful to factory presentation, with all correct GT dashboard and instrumentation, and factory seat belts. The heated rear window and retro push-button AM radio are both functional features.

Attention to detail is evident in the headlining, seats, door trims, and carpets, all of which also present in excellent condition.
