Seller's Description
1976 TRIUMPH DOLOMITE SPRINT SN:3532 VIN:VA16861 ENG:VA12909HE $18,000 (To be sold Unregistered & with Vic RWC) HAPPY LITTLE DOLOMITE Built as a Luxury Sports Saloon upon Michelotti's compact bodied Dolomite, the Dolomite Sprint took the sedate SOHC 1854cc 91 BHP 4 cylinder engine out to 1998cc, fitted a 16 Valve, Single Over Head Cam, resulting in 127BHP, a 36BHP increase! Released in June 1973, the Dolomite Sprint was Triumph's answer to the BMW 2002. With a 4 speed manual with Overdrive, the Sprint was able to achieve better gearing than the BMW, allowing it to reach 60 MPH in just short of a second quicker than a 2002tii. In 2010 Automobile Magazine wrote an article comparing the Sprint to the Tii, in which it was noted that the Sprint was: Quicker on the road, more luxuriously appointed, more comfortable and arguably the prettier car. This Australian Dolomite Sprint is an excellent example, offered for sale wearing Mimosa yellow paint with and contrasting black vinyl roof (The only combination available to the Australian market) this Sprint is a true hallmark of the 70's. The interior trim is superb, with plush original seats, new carpets throughout and lovely wooden dash and door top trims. This Sprint performs exceptionally on the road with an excellent gear shift through the Manual Overdrive unit, and strong, revving engine, providing an opportunity to experience a true classic 70's luxury sports saloon at its best.
