Previously owned by the President of the South Australia Ferrari Car Club. Today it presents in overall excellent condition and is an amazing opportunity to purchase one of the highly desirable early carburettor 308 GTS models.
The Ferrari 308 GTS was first introduced in 1977 as a Targa top variant of the existing GTB model. Essentially it was marketed to replace the legendary 246 Dino and sit just under their flagship 365 GT4 BB model. In keeping with Ferrari tradition, styling was entrusted to legendary design house Pininfarina and featured a much more aggressive aero package than its predecessor whilst still retaining a mid-mounted engine layout. The all new engine was a 3L V8 mounted transversely behind the driverâs cockpit and featured 4 x Weber carburettors to produce 252bhp and a top speed of 251 km/h. A total of 3,219 308 GTS models were produced during their 4-year production run.
