Produced from 1991 to 1996, the SVX was a bold attempt to combine two contradicting ideals, comfort and performance, into one tech-laden, reliable, Japanese luxury package. Powered by a 230-horsepower H6, flat-six on top-trim models, the same style of engine you'd find in a Porsche 911, the front- or all-wheel-drive was no slouch in the power department.
With a design by Giorgetto Giugiaro of ItalDesign, one of the most famous car designers of all time and the man behind such icons as the DeLorean DMC-12, Lotus Esprit S1, BMW M1, and even the original Volkswagen Golf, the SVX was a sleek, modern, luxury coupe with a head-turning design.
With lines never seen on any other car before the 90's and an innovative split power window design, the SVX was a league above any previous Subaru in terms of design.
