The third generation Monaro was launched by Holden in 2001 after a 25-year hiatus due to public pressure following the release of the 1998 VT Coupe concept. The Monaro ceased production in 2006, marking an unfortunate end. Based on the VX Commodore, the Series 1 Monaro was offered as a CV6 with the 3.8-litre Supercharged V6 or the CV8 with the famous 5.7-litre LS1 powerplant. The CV8 was an instant success and outsold the CV6 so greatly that the CV6 was dropped. The V2 Series 3 received the same 5.7-litre LS1 V8 but revised to produce 245kw of power.
This well-presented and eye-catching V2 Series 3 Monaro shows little signs of the 218,214 km travelled since new. It includes both remote keys and original books with full history, although the car is due for a service. This example has sat in a private collection for several years, indoors and dry to preserve the vehicle.
