‘Ferrari Land’ opens in Spain
Coming after Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, Ferrari Land brings that theme park experience to Europe, featuring eleven specific rides and attractions for fans and families over a 70,000 square metre facility.
Chief drawcard amongst the rides is ‘Red Force’. At 112 metres in height and capable of 180 km/h in just 5 seconds, Red Force is billed as the highest and fastest vertical accelerator in Europe.
Contrasting this are the piston-shaped ‘Thrill Towers’ which offer a freefall-type of ride.
The ‘Racing Legends’ and ‘Flying Dreams’ experiences allow visitors to fly (literally) through the history of F1 and GT, while a Ferrari Gallery offers an interactive journey through the history of the marque.
Visitors can also have a go at a pit stop or experience the excitement of driving a GT car with the ‘Maranello Gran Race’ driving circuit. Naturally, there are simulators aplenty, for adults and children, as well as the usual restaurants (Italian-themed, of course) and merchandise outlets, plus recreations of Enzo Ferrari’s house and landmark Italian buildings.
Ferrari Land is located within the PortAventura World resort, which is on the Mediterranean coast, about an hour southwest of Barcelona.
