12th Ford 8 And 10 Hp Sidevalve Clubs National Rally
Hosted for the first time by The Ford 8 and 10 hp Sidevalve Club of Qld, 85 Participants in 40 vehicles spent 10 days touring the beautiful Sunshine Coast.
Over 20 variants of 8 or 10 hp sidevalve engined vehicles included the oldest vehicle present, a 1933 Ford Y model tourer from NSW, and the youngest entrant - a 1959 Ford 100E Prefect from South Australia.
The stars of this year's event were the six prewar sidevalve vehicles including the only known surviving 1930's model C.X. Ute from Victoria.
At the Rally dinner and awards night, a 1947 Ford Anglia 4 door sedan from South Australia won the Best Overall Vehicle award, while the Furthest Driven to the Rally award went to a 1950 Ford Anglia 4 door sedan from Tasmania.
The next National Rally will be held in Castlemaine Victoria in 2011.
