13th Annual Chryslers By the Bay show 'n' shine
Numbers were up on the 2008 display, with most post-War years and models of Aussie Chryslers represented. Being a celebration of all things Chrysler, there was also a number of interesting Plymouth, De Soto and Dodge vehicles on display. AMC/Rambler, while not a Chrysler brand in the strictest sense, was also welcome and represented by a striking Rebel Cross Country wagon with 'woody' side trim.
Aussie Chargers were popular as always, along with some of the big 'Yank Tank' Chryslers sporting flashy fins and chrome.
Of course, there were a number of excellent restorations on show, several of which boasted big Hemi engines and an abundance of Mopar performance parts.
Chrysler's 300C is gaining a strong following amongst enthusiasts, with BIG rims on licorice strap rubber a popular modification to these already striking vehicles. One 300C also featured an immaculately-airbrushed mural on the bootlid.
This year, Chryslers By the Bay was again supported by hrysler Australia an Shannons, among others. Growing in strength each year, this event is fast becoming an institution, not just among Mopar fans, but also classic car enthusiasts in general.
