2006 Dodge Calibre

Welcome back Dodge.

After an absence since the '70s, the Dodge brand is back in town. Promising a raft of new models over the next three years, Dodge has opened its offensive with the Caliber crossover vehicle. While available in the USA as an AWD SUV, the Caliber will only be sold in Australia in two-wheel guise. It is a sporty coupe vehicle featuring high roofline, bold flares, sweeping roofline and raked windscreen.

It will initially be offered with two petrol engines (1.8 and 2.0-litre) with a 2.4-litre petrol and 2.0-litre turbo diesel to follow. Adding momentum to the Dodge invasion is that the company will be introducing a new vehicle every six months for the next three years. Following the Caliber will be the Dodge Nitro in early 2007.
