2013/14 Shelby 1000 Mustang
While the company has diversified into other makes and models since, Mustangs have been the model Shelby have been most closely identified with.
When Carroll Shelby rejoined the Ford family almost a decade ago, it signalled a new era for Shelby American and, of course, that meant a new smorgasboard of Shelby-badged performance Mustang options for enthusiasts.
One of the most recent - and powerful - of the current generation Shelby-tweaked Mustangs is the Shelby 1000. As the name suggests, the 1000 packs 1,000hp (745kW). At least, it did when it was first introduced in 2012.
The latest version, for the 2013/14 model year, adds the option of 1,100hp (820kW), delivered courtesy of a Kenne Bell supercharger. Unlike the 1,000hp version, the 1,100 is purely for track use, at least in the USA.
Using a stock Shelby GT500 Mustang as a base, Shelby take out a bunch of Ford parts and put in plenty of their own to reach that magical 1,000hp figure.

In addition to the Shelby/Kenne Bell supercharger with inlet pipe and MAF that's specific to the track-only 1,100hp version, a Shelby wide body conversion is also available.
How much? The Shelby 1000 is listed at US$149,995, while the 1,100hp version is US$154,995. Both prices exclude the cost of the base GT500 Mustang.
