The CDUCC already boast a diverse and interesting collection of 'Vettes amongst their members, including this one from Dale.

Dale's not just a fan of Corvettes. He loves all cars and that passion started in his youth when he began collecting scale model cars. While he has hundreds of scale models in his collection, Dale's "full-size" toy is this sweet 1974 Stingray coupe.

Largely stock, the '74 features a 350 V8 and 3-speed auto transmission, but Dale has given his car an individual touch with the American Racing 15 x 8 wheels, aftermarket side pipes and body stripes. The racing-style stripes and numbers certainly set Dale's vehicle apart from the rest of the C3 Corvettes out there.

Dale, who's involved with the Queensland Motorsport Museum, uses the high performance Corvette regularly, and scored a win at the Shannon's Muscle Car Shootout at Queensland Raceway a few years back.

While racing has been great, Dale gets just as much of a buzz from showing his Corvette at various events, especially if it helps to get a new generation excited about America's Sports Car.

"At our recent Corvette Classic, a young teenager was looking longingly at my car," Dale said. "I asked him if he wanted to sit in it and let his mother take his photo. The look on his face said it all! I was more than happy to have played a part in setting another young person on the same road that I've travelled."
