2019 Mustang Nationals - Swings Both Ways
It’s hard to know where to start with this custom Mustang created by Trevor Parkes of Parkes Body Works P/L in Oakleigh, but suffice to say there’s a LOT going on. So much, in fact, that’ll we’ll devote more space to it in a future issue.
What we can say is that countless hours of work went into it and there are parts from a wide variety of makes and models in the build – everything from a VW to a Hyundai – and a bunch of aftermarket and bespoke parts, too.
Amongst the subtler modifications are widened rear guards that are perfectly integrated into the rest of the sheetmetal, including the tail light panel and rear spoiler that were both extended to suit.
If you’re wondering about the title for this paragraph, it comes from this Mustang’s nickname and refers to the doors that swing open in both the conventional manner as well as butterfly-style.
Winner of the Custom Mustangs ‘Best Presented Mustang’ award at the Sunday display, we’ll look at this car in more detail in a future JUST CARS.
