2020 Red CentreNats is on - 4-6 September
NOTE: With a COVID-19 Safety Plan enacted, this year’s sixth annual Red CentreNats will go ahead. Organisers have made changes to the programme to allow for social distancing and public gathering limits on site. It’s recommended that all attendees download the COVIDSafe App before coming to Alice Springs, while those showing symptoms of COVID-19 should not attend – for their own safety and the safety of others. Anyone travelling to the Red CentreNats from a declared COVID-19 hotspot will be required to undertake 14 days of mandatory quarantine, at their own expense, upon entry into the Northern Territory.

One of Australia’s best car culture events, the Red CentreNats sees some of our top street machines join leading extreme motorsport enthusiasts in competitions that include Show ‘n’ Shine, Burnouts, Drags, Motorkhana and Grass Driving. The action takes place at Central Australia’s premium drag facility – Alice Springs Inland Dragway – and Blatherskite Park, with multiple awards and prizes up for grabs.
Run by Summernats and the Northern Territory Major Events Company, the Red CentreNats also features the unique experience of driving your highly modified, high-powered, high-decibel street machine on the streets of Alice Springs over four days of the event. Special dispensations granted by the NT’s Department of Motor Vehicles will allow some very special cars to get their motors running on the roads, roundabouts and even the McDonalds drive thru in Alice Springs!
Last year, the Saturday night street parade featured over 500 vehicles snaking their way through the Alice Springs city centre, with what felt like the city’s entire population standing on the curbs and corners, cheering on the visitors.
Including the scrutineering welcome event on Wednesday 2 September, there’s over five days to enjoy with other chrome and horsepower lovers in the desert sun.
Presented in conjunction with sanctioning body Motorsport Australia, Red CentreNats also includes opportunities to volunteer as an official within the event competitions and to be a part of the great team delivering an awesome automotive event.
