This year’s 35th edition of the All Ford Day in Geelong, Victoria, had to contend with sky-high fuel prices that came into effect after the US-Iran war kicked off. As such, attendee numbers that have reached 1,500+ in recent years were down, but just over 1,000 display vehicles still turned out.
The Mustang featured here was one of many on show at what is now regarded as one of the largest events of its type in Australia. Along with the cars, All Ford Day 2026 also featured vehicles and merchandise from Ford Australia, trade stands, food trucks and family attractions.
If you’re familiar with the “crowd killer” memes that have been connected to late-model Mustangs for the past decade or so, you’ll understand the gag livery on this sixth-generation Mustang. If you’re not, the pejorative was born from multiple videos of Mustangs from the fifth (S197) and sixth (S550) generation of Ford’s famous pony car losing control when exiting Cars & Coffee events. Enthusiasts filming these exits would then have to scramble for cover when the combination of driver inexperience and a powerful 5.0-litre V8 led to lift-off oversteer.
More common in the US, the disparaging “crowd killer” label seems to be an exclusively Mustang thing, with Camaros, Challengers and other cars from the period never being tarred with same brush.
Sixth-generation Mustangs like the one featured were the first to be factory-built in right-hand drive and sold new by Ford Australia (earlier examples were RHD converted locally). A top seller in its market segment for years following local launch at the end of 2015, Mustang sales had slowed, but rebounded in 2025, with more than 4,000 sold, making it Australia’s top-selling sports car for the year.
In the decade since its Australian launch, the modern Mustang has built a dedicated club following that rivals the first-gen version for passion and numbers, as evidenced at this year’s All Ford Day.
This Mustang has previously been featured in JUST CARS’ coverage of the Mustang Round Up in Victoria. Back then, it was decked out in a Halloween-themed livery that included barbed wire, cobwebs and fake blood! The ‘S4LLIE’ number plate (as in ‘Mustang Sally’) is a nice touch, too.
