ACDelco team aiming for victory at Winternats
The ACDelco Pro Slammer drag team is set to go head-to-head against the competition at the 2021 Gulf Western Oil Winternationals at Willowbank Raceway this 10-13 June.
Currently sitting second on the Pro Slammer championship table, but with two wins from the past two meetings, the team is eager to get the best out of their pair of drag cars, driven by Sam Fenech and Team Principal, Maurice Fabietti, in this weekend’s series final.
“The series final is like our Bathurst, so we’re itching to show the progress the team has made over the last few months and send both ACDelco Monaros down the track in record breaking pace - then hopefully claim the title,” said Fabietti.
“The ACDelco Monaros are capable of generating 3,500 horsepower at 10,000rpm and we’ll be aiming to beat our record of 5.69 seconds for the quarter mile, at a top speed of 406.7km/h.”
Ahead of this weekend’s competition, the Winternationals has attracted more than 400 entries across all classes, while a crowd in excess of 50,000 is expected, COVID conditions permitting.
The ACDelco team are supported by GM Specialty Vehicles, who will have fan engagement activities and Willowbank, along with a new Chevrolet Silverado 1500 LTZ Premium pickup on display, which is the same type used to tow Fabietti’s ACDelco team drag cars.
