Aston Martins out in force for 'Dream Ride'
The parade saw Special Olympians in the passenger seat of two dozen Aston Martins - both new and classic - in the Dream Ride from Sydney's Luna Park, across the Harbour Bridge and on to Sydney Motorsport Park, where each car took to the circuit for a well-earned victory lap.
At the track, dozens more special Olympians were treated to some fast laps in a variety of high performance and luxury cars, with the event designed to raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Australia.
Kevin Wall, Regional Manager, Australia and New Zealand, said: "Aston Martin Lagonda, our Aston Martin Sydney dealership and our passionate Aston Martin Owners Club are very proud to support Dream Ride and this fantastic event."
Special Olympics Australia Chief Executive Officer, Corene Strauss, said: "With 2016 marking the inaugural Dream Ride in Australia, the day was a genuine once-in-a-lifetime experience, all in aid of a wonderful, charitable cause. Luna Park is such an iconic Sydney landmark and Special Olympic athletes and Aston Martin drivers truly experienced a day that they will never forget."
All funds raised from Dream Ride 2016 will help Special Olympics Australia provide opportunities for people with an intellectual disability to achieve their personal best through meaningful sports programs within a supportive environment.
