Aussie sofa world's fastest!

Driver Glenn Suter was at the wheel of the motorised two-seater sofa - that came complete with coffee table, cup of coffee and a bowl of fruit. The high performance couch was built by the team from Evolution Motorsport and is powered by a Suzuki GSX 1400 motorcycle engine. The blocky piece of furniture, while not all that aerodynamic, cleverly used the coffee table to break the airflow.

The record has been officially recognised as the Guinness World Record for the world's fastest sofa, a title previously held by the poms, with Marek Turowsk of Leicestershire having reached 148km/h.

The record attempt was part of a promotional series called "Add a Motor to it", launched on the Ice Break You Tube channel.
