Bosch Platinum Plus Spark Plugs

Bosch Platinum Plus is an improved version of the first platinum spark plug introduced to the aftermarket. Platinum Plus plugs have a pure platinum, 0.3mm diameter centre electrode that's heat-fused into an extended ceramic insulator. The use of pure platinum minimizes the degradation from metal transfer that occurs every time the spark plug fires, improving the plug's performance and increasing its life. It also eliminates air gaps that cause alloy-tipped-only platinum plugs to be unreliable. The smaller diameter significantly improves performance because the electric field is concentrated across a smaller surface area, enabling sparking to occur at a lower voltage.

The superior heat-fused centre electrode design of the Bosch Platinum Plus allows it to reach its self-cleaning temperature faster (only seconds after starting) resulting in reliable starts, even in cold conditions or with low battery voltage, smoother acceleration and increased fuel efficiency. The Bosch Platinum Plus spark plug has a lower ignition voltage requirement, providing a more reliable spark at higher RPM's without misfires. Less misfires means better engine and catalytic converter protection and importantly, from an environment perspective, less fuel consumption and therefore a reduction in fuel emissions.
