Calling all Clones - Maclean's Bridge 2012
Sponsored by Bydesign Motorsports (creators of AC Cobra replicas), this new element to the Maclean's Bridge event is an opportunity for outstanding Cobras, MG, GT40, Jaguar and other replica classics, including neo-classics like Excalibur, Clenet, Zimmer, etc., to be displayed and judged in a rigorous concours - with numbers strictly capped at no more than 25 vehicles.
Replica classics have often by shunned by traditional concours events, despite being well built, maintained in outstanding condition, or both. Not any more! The Bydesign Concours de Facsimile will honour outstanding examples of these clones in their own dedicated concours event.
The Bydesign Concours de Facsimile is just one element of Maclean's Bridge at Lakeside for 2012, Queensland's largest and most colourful sports and classic car event. Held at the historic Lakeside Park circuit in conjunction with National Motoring Heritage Day on May 20.
The Shannons Concours d'Elegance, the Interclub Team Regularity Championship, a sports & classic car auction, hosted by Pickles Auctions, and all the usual club and marque displays will make this year's Maclean's Bridge at Lakeside a must-see event. The event will also feature 'Happy Laps' for enthusiasts to run their classic on the Lakeside park track, following the conclusion of the awards presentation across both concours categories.
Public entry fees are $10 per person on both days (walk-ins only on 20/5), with $20 car & driver entry on 20/5, with $10 per additional adult (max $40 per car). Kids under 13 are admitted free both days. See the website for regularity and concours entry fees.
