Chevrolet adds ‘Carbon 65 Edition’ to 2018 Corvette
A US$15,000 upgrade over the base price of a Grand Sport or Z06 Corvette, and available in coupe and convertible form, the ‘Carbon 65 Edition’ features visible carbon fibre treatment on all the lower aerodynamic panels, as well as on the roof (tonneau cover on convertibles), front guard vents on the coupe, and rear spoiler.
Finished in a unique Ceramic Matrix Gray colour, the Carbon 65 Edition also features gloss black wheels with machined grooves and Carbon-logo centre caps, blue brake calipers, carbon-look external mirrors, and unique decals on the front guards and doors. Convertibles get a blue folding hood as standard.
Inside, the theme continues with gloss carbon fibre trim and a carbon fibre-rimmed steering wheel. This is matched to jet black suede interior touches and leather Competition Sport seats, which are both detailed with blue stitching. Carbon 65 door sill plates complete the unique interior touches.
“Corvette is one of the most storied names in Chevrolet and sports car history, with a heritage few can match,” said Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president Chevrolet Marketing.
“The new Carbon 65 Edition honours that legacy, while offering customers another unique, special-edition model that personalizes the ownership experience.”
Limited to just 650 individually-numbered units worldwide, the Carbon 65 Edition is due for release with the rest of the 2018 Corvette range in the northern hemisphere summer.
