Chrysler 300 gets V8 Supercars safety car gig
Both vehicles are powered by Chrysler's stonking 6.4-litre Hemi V8 engine, so they'll certainly be able to hold their own in track conditions. The latest 6.4-litre Hemi is backed by decades of Chrysler engine development, and stands tall as one of the world's most powerful naturally aspirated V8s.
Sam Tabart, Director of Marketing at the Fiat Chrysler Group said, "We're excited to add V8 Supercars to our brand's sponsorship portfolio. The Chrysler brand has a rich heritage of racing across the world which makes the partnership such a great fit."
V8 Supercars' Director of Commercial and Marketing John Dunlop welcomed the Chrysler and Jeep brands to the championship.
"Chrysler is an amazing partner and getting to work with them in 2013 and 2014 will be fantastic. The Chrysler 300 SRT8 and Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 are such strong brands and great cars that will gain valuable exposure on and off track", said Dunlop.
Fully kitted out with emergency lights and striking livery, the Chrysler 300 SRT8 safety car was unveiled on Channel Seven's Sunrise breakfast TV program in Sydney's Martin Place this morning.
The Chrysler 300 SRT8 and the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8 vehicles will make their debut tomorrow (February 16) at the season launch Test Day at Eastern Creek, where the public will also see most of the 2013 race teams and their new livery in the metal for the first time.
