Clarendon Classic 2013 - calling all Macks and Peterbilts
Last year, Kenworth trucks were the special feature of the rally, and more than 120 turned up. This year, the club are putting the call out to owners of classic Macks and Peterbilts to break that record in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of these truck brands in Australia.
In addition to the trucks, the Hawkesbury Showground in Clarendon will be filled with over 100 vintage stationary engines, classic tractors and farm machinery, as well as vintage cars and motorcycles.
As well as the special focus on Mack and Peterbilt, this year's Clarendon Classic will also be highlighting David Brown tractors and Austral engines.
The Classic always throws up a few oddities, too, like rare rowcropper tractors, a Holden-engined grey Fergie, and classic 'dozer running a Ford flathead V8.
The event attracts all manner of vintage machinery and stationary engine owners from throughout Sydney, as well as up and down the east coast, so there'll be plenty to see.
The Classic will also feature tractor pulls, kid's rides (including around Richmond in a vintage double decker bus), stalls, food and refreshments, as well as a vehicle trek on the morning of Sunday, September 15.
Entry is free for exhibitors and display vehicles, with camping available, too, but prospective entrants MUST complete the Rally Registration form, downloadable from the Sydney Antique Machinery Club website, so the club can plan the exhibition space.
Public entry is just $7 for adults, and $3 for kids each day.
A great family day - or two! - out, the 2013 Clarendon Classic is not to be missed. See below for essential info.
