CLASSICS - 1968 Ford Mustang Eleanor
If you haven’t watched ‘Gone in 60 Seconds’ in a while, do yourself a favour and spin it up again. It’s big, it’s dumb, it’s fun, but more importantly, it features one of the coolest movie cars ever – the iconic 1967 Shelby GT500 known as ‘Eleanor’.

Pro Series Punch
Based on a 1968 Mustang fastback, the build of this Eleanor started with a Ford ‘Pro Series’ Small Block 427 V8, hooked up to a Tremec TKO-500 five-speed manual and nine-inch diff. Producing around 403kW and 703Nm (541hp and 519lb/ft) out of the crate, this engine is enhanced with MSD ignition, Ford Racing parts, a single-belt serpentine kit for the ancillaries and lots of billet goodies.
The 427 sits in a fully-braced engine bay, with under-the-skin enhancements including heavy duty suspension with custom adjustable coilovers, sway bars front and rear, and a full Wilwood brake package.
Grey Power
On the outside, this silver bullet is rocking authentic Pepper Grey paint, all the correct body enhancements, Shelby wheels and a set of original PIAA fog lamps. Inside, a full retrim in black leather includes modern sports bucket seats, a Kenwood sound system, Vintage Air air conditioning, Dakota Digital cruise control and AutoMeter gauges. Front and rear cameras are fitted, while a security alarm is there to prevent a Memphis Raines-style incident.
Since its thorough, rotisserie restoration, this car has only covered 19,000km, so it’s ready to Go, Baby, Go!
