Formerly part of a private collection, the car’s 351ci V8 was rebuilt for the resto, and also powered up with the addition of a mild cam, 4-into-1 headers and a custom dual exhaust system. A larger alloy radiator keeps this potent powerplant cool, while a C10 three-speed automatic and 9-inch LSD with a 3.00:1 ratio ensures it hooks up and goes hard.
Super Silver
Metallic silver paint looks great on an XB hardtop and is complemented on this car with orange striping, driving lights and a vented bonnet that were part of the GS spec. All the chrome has been either replated or replaced during the restoration, so it shines like new, with the trim as tight as a drum. Wheels are in the Bathurst Globe style, but wider to provide a tougher look that’s enhanced with white letter BF Goodrich tyres and lowered suspension.
Factory Inside… Plus
Inside, the black grained vinyl trim and bucket seats maintain a classic look and are still resto fresh. A GS steering wheel, dash and centre console keep the old-school vibes rolling.
For modern safety and sound quality, lap-sash retractable seat belts have been added up front, with a Bluetooth compatible Kenwood stereo in the dash, but the ’70s spirit of the cabin remains.
