Corolla's Magic Million

The milestone figure was achieved just four months after Toyota celebrated its 40th Anniversary in Australia. According to David Buttner, Toyota's senior executive director of sales & marketing, the Corolla is selling in bigger numbers today than ever before.

Toyota Australia figures showed that two thirds of the million Corollas sold here were actually locally produced (666,734 to 333,266 imported). Over ten generations, more than 33 million Corollas have ben sold around the World, making it the biggest selling car of all time.

In Australia, Corollas make up one-fifth of all Toyota sales, making it the company's best selling model in this Country, and the second best selling car overall in Australia.
