Ferrari Challenge to debut at 2015 Clipsal 500
The Adelaide season opener for V8 Supercars will also host the first round of the Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific in Australia, which will see over 30 Ferraris competing.
"After the extremely popular response from Ferrari Racing Days in Sydney this year, we were very keen on giving the motorsport fans in South Australia and beyond another chance to see the world's best one-make race category again on home soil," said Ferrari Australasia CEO Herbert Appleroth.
"We are excited to partner with Clipsal 500 and the South Australian Government to bring the first round of the Ferrari Asia Pacific Challenge Series 2015 to Adelaide for the very first time and to have it part of such a well-respected and iconic Australian motorsport event."
Since 1993, the Ferrari Challenge series has been one of the most popular one-make series in the world, featuring over 2,400 drivers from more than 40 different countries. The Asia Pacific region has joined the Challenge series in 2011, with the 2015 season opening in Australia for the first time.
Drivers will race the 458 Challenge EVO, the mid-rear V8 berlinetta derived from the 458 Italia and the fifth model used by Ferrari in the one-make racing series.
Ferrari is also planning to have a unique Ferrari supercar display and hospitality suite for Ferrari owners and fans at the February 26 - March 1 event.
