Ferrari Racing Days event coming to Australia in 2014
Thanks to Destination NSW and Ferrari Australasia, Sydney will host the first ever 'Ferrari Racing Days' in Australia, with all the action to take place at Sydney Motorsport Park (Eastern Creek) over 3 days, from April 11 to 13, 2014.
One of the biggest owner events ever organised by Ferrari Australasia, Ferrari Racing Days will provide various track activities and entertainment for hundreds of Ferraris and their owners, as well as fans of the Prancing Horse.
In addition to being a whole 'world of Ferrari' experience, the event will also feature the second round of the Ferrari APAC Challenge 2014 race series.
"We are beyond thrilled to host the first ever Ferrari Racing Days in Australia being hosted at Sydney Motorsport Park," said Ferrari Australasia CEO Herbert Appleroth at the launch for the event.
"This is a unique event that will host the biggest collection of Ferraris, including our Formula One cars and the Ferrari Challenge Asia Pacific that Australia has ever seen.
"We are so excited to not only host our valued Ferrari owners at this event, but we also look forward to welcoming thousands of Ferrari fans and lovers of motorsport to share with us the passion, excitement and glamour that only the world of Ferrari can offer," Appleroth added.
The 3-day event promises a packed program of activities, but the star of the show, for owners and fans alike, will be the official Ferrari F1 show, which is being presented for the first time in Australia.
Ferrari owners will also get the opportunity to get behind the wheel of their own cars to see how they measure up in a few on-track sessions. There will also be a display of the latest complete Ferrari line-up, as well as demonstration runs by some impressive classic Ferraris that have helped create the history of the Prancing Horse.
One of the only competitive races will be the Ferrari Challenge. Arguably the most popular one-make series in the world, the Ferrari Challenge has attracted over 2,400 drivers from more than 40 different countries since it started in 1993. The Asia Pacific region has joined the Challenge in 2011, with the 2014 sporting season opening in Sepang, before heading to Sydney for the very first time.
Drivers from Coppa Shell and those who already have competition experience from Trofeo Pirelli will be seen in action behind the wheel of the 458 Challenge racer, the mid-rear V8 berlinetta derived from the 458 Italia and the fifth model to be used by Ferrari for its one-make racing series.
Tickets for Ferrari Racing Days will be available through Ticketek and at Sydney Motorsport Park, with ticketing release date and further details to be announced closer to the event date.
