Ford fans to flock to massive auction- Sat, 26th May
Few staff have had an impact to the Ford Motoring Company than Leslie Drayton, whom sadly passed away late last year. Starting as an apprentice and climbing his way up the company ladder to be a senior manager- he retired after close to 50 years of employment.
His passion for the vehicles that he helped shape throughout Australia's golden age of the automotive industry led him to work as a curator at the Geelong Motoring Museum.
With so many cars and parts on offer this weekend, son David Drayton, a well-known Birregurra legend, said his father had a passion for restoring cars and he hoped the next buyers would do the same.
A huge turnout is expected, Auctioneer Martin Evans of M.E Auctions said cars going under the hammer would suit collectors or people seeking cars with originality.
There are many cars that will do well. Such is the authenticity of the vehicles, many will go from $50,000-$100,000.
JUST CARS wouldn't be surprised if this was one of the auctions of the year, in terms of the variance of what is on offer. The small but vibrant town of Birregurra, in Western Victoria- provides the perfect location for a Saturday drive, such is the picture-esque countryside. There is no doubt the close-knit community will be welcoming the influx of visitors this weekend.
