Four Door Cobra?

Despite being essentially a 'runout' model, the boldly-striped XC hardtop was a big hit and remains one of the most popular and collectable muscle-era Fords today, inspiring a revival in the form of a limited run of FPV GT Cobras in 2007.

While the new Cobras were sedans and utilities, Ford never built an Cobra sedan on the original XC platform. . . or did they?

This Cobra 4 door has turned more than a few heads since it first appeared for sale in this magazine a couple of months back. No mere 'hardtop homage', this impressively finished and detailed vehicle has an interesting history, which we'll take a closer look at next month.
