Holden ‘TribUTE’ VE Redline ute to be won
The Holden ute turns 70 in 2021, and while there will be no new Holden utes to mark the milestone, there will be a new-ish one available as part of a Holden Certified Service and AC Delco promotion.
Called the ‘TribUTE,’ the promotion will see a VE Series 2 SSV Redline ute “re-imagined and re-defined” by Holden and their partners, with the finished product to be given away in what Holden says is a demonstration of their ongoing support of Holden customers and the 1.6 million Holdens still on the road today.
The 2010-model Holden Redline ute will have its drivetrain upgraded with a Chevrolet Performance 6.2-litre LS3 V8 crate engine producing 391kW (525hp) and a Chevrolet Performance T-56 Super Magnum heavy duty six-speed manual transmission.
Other upgrades include GM Level-3 track capable spec FE3 suspension, cross-drilled Brembo brakes and staggered 20-inch wheels.
The ute will be put together by a Holden Certified Service Outlet and GM Certified Collision Repairer, using Holden Genuine and AC Delco parts where required.
Valued at up to $90,000 once completed, the TribUTE will be given away in a competition that’s open to both the public and trade.
To enter, retail customers need to have their Holden serviced at a Holden Certified Service Outlet, while trade customers can purchase AC Delco oil through the GM Trade Parts programme to be in the running to win.
The winner of the TribUTE will receive the vehicle in a special handover event with three-time Supercars Champion and seven-time Bathurst 1000 winner Craig Lowndes (including flights and accommodation, if required).
Open to Australian and New Zealand retail customers and Australian/NZ GM Trade Parts members, the Holden TribUTE competition opened on 12 October, 2020, and runs until 30 June, 2021. Terms and conditions apply.
