Holdens - Hot in Indonesia!
Yoko was here at the invite of Ross Hanley, whose Statesman was treated to some of Yoko's metalworking skills. Something of a master with stainless steel, Yoko created a number of custom touches for Hanley's car, including individually cut, shaped and fitted pieces of sheet stainless steel over the grille bars and taillight bezels. Yoko also built the distinctive gills in the front guard from scratch. JUST CARS was impressed by the quality of Yoko's work, even more so by the fact he's not a metalworker by trade - he's actually a media personality in Indonesia! Yoko's custom touches were undoubtedly a factor in Hanley's Statesman scoring the best HQ/HJ/HX Modified trophy as well as President's Choice. Yoko himself scored a trophy to take back home - Best Dressed Holden Fan. Check out Yoko's shirt in the image below - that's not something you'll see every day! Back in his native Indonesia, Yoko is a senior member of a Holden enthusiasts group and owns an awesome black customized HQ Statesman, as well as a heavily customized HR ute. We'll take a closer look at these in a future issue of JUST CARS.
