HSV 25th Anniversary GTS
Making its public debut at the Australian International Motor Show, which kicks off this week, the 25th Anniversary GTS will be limited to just 140 examples - 125 for Australia, and 15 for New Zealand.
Mechanically, the limited edition runs the same 325kW 6.2-litre V8 and transmission options (6-speed manual or 6-speed auto) as the existing E3 GTS, but with reduced weight thanks to new lighter alloy wheels. The 'Satin Graphite' forged alloy 20-inch wheels deliver a claimed weight saving of 22kg over the existing GTS wheels, making a reduction in unsprung weight of 8 percent.
Combined with the lighter wheels are bigger brakes, in the form of six-piston calipers with 50 percent more pad area. The 25th Anniversary model also gets 'Blind Zone Alert' sensors in the rear corners, which offer great reversing safety than existing rear parking sensors.
Identifying features on the 25th Anniversary GTS include "vector" bonnet scoops and side vents, which are finished in the same Satin Graphite as the wheels. 25th Anniversary badging is on the boot lid, with the logo added inside to the EDI screen, door sill plates, and stitched into the front seat headrests. Additionally, each model will feature an internal ID plate.
Available colours for the 25th Anniversary GTS include Heron (white), Sting (red), Phantom (black) and Hazard (yellow). HSV say the 25th Anniversary package adds $7,500 of value, but the premium over a standard GTS is only $2,000. Pricing for the limited edition starts at $84,990.
The release of the HSV 25th Anniversary GTS follows its announcement in August, which also saw the re-introduction of the Clubsport sedan and Maloo ute to the HSV range.
See a 25th Anniversary GTS at your HSV dealer or at the Australian International Motor Show from Thursday, October 19th to Sunday, October 28th.
